Dr. Sally Fredericksen is a licensed school-clinical child psychologist at Mahler Psychology, PC. She received her doctorate from Pace University. Dr. Fredericksen spent her postdoctoral years working as a staff psychologist at JCCA’s Residential Treatment Center and as an adjunct professor at Pace University. Additionally, she has trained at Montefiore’s Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center, Four Winds Hospital, and within the Rye City School District. Dr. Fredericksen has extensive experience completing comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations in order to help provide individuals with diagnostic clarification and useful recommendations for the future. She also conducts both individual and group therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults.

Dr. Fredericksen specializes in evidence-based therapies including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Dr. Fredericksen’s areas of specialty include treating anxiety, depression, social skills, trauma, ADHD and related executive functioning issues and behavioral concerns.

Dr. Fredericksen has an integrative therapeutic style, in which she takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach and ensures ongoing collaboration between therapist and client, as well as parents when working with children. Dr. Fredericksen believes that developing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is of the utmost importance when working to achieve personal goals.
